2006 GTBC Report

This year marks the first year that the Shrikes competed in the Great Texas Birding Classic. The team finished with an impressive 194 species of birds (and one rattlesnake!), good enough to take 2nd place in the competition. Eagle Optics teamed up with Bird Watcher's Digest to sponsor the team and help raise awarenes and funds for Pronatura Veracruz.

The Shrikes lineup for the 10th Annual GTBC had some new faces: Team Captain Roy J. Rodriguez (TX), Danny Hoehne (TX), Ben "Lifer" Lizdas (WI) and Sean Smith (TX). Welcome, guys! We're all looking forward to another great Big Day next year.
